Branefatboy has just returned to the TravelPod forums after a brief hiatus. We’re glad to have him back. He is an incessant cheerleader of all things Macedonian. Check out his unique list of things to do in the Eastern European country:
1. Ohrid Lake, Ohrid
Snowy Mountains, beautiful lakes, friendly people and much cheaper prices…. I think we like Macedonia better than Greece! – Robertandtanja
2. Stobi, Gradsko
Stobi, town from the ancient period, is the most famous archeological location in the Republic of Macedonia. – Tuparev_slavcho
3. Heraklea, Bitola
4. Kokino, Kumanovo
This observatory has recently been discovered and it is believed it was created in the bronze era, i.e., in the second millennium B.C. – Tuparev_slavcho
5. Kuklica, Kratovo
Kuklica is a natural place where the stones look like a bride and bridegroom and their wedding guests on the day of a wedding. – Brandilinasue
6. Matka, Skopje
Walking around the hill on stone pathways, we had to duck in certain places so you don’t hit your head on the jagged rocks above. It was very peaceful there and very beautiful. – Brandilinasue
7. The Millennium Cross, Skopje
8. Markovi Kuli, Prilep
9. Smolarsk Waterfalls, Strumica
First stop we made was at Smolarsk Waterfall. The climb to the waterfall was terrible and I found out that I definitely was out of shape. – Brandilinasue
10. St. Plaosnik, Ohrid
We headed ourselves up the hill to see Samuilova Turdina (The Fortress). With terrific views of the city, it’s breath taking. – Brandilinasue
